I recently aquired an S&W 32 Long CTG, it has a 2 1/2" barrel that is stamped "32 LONG CTG" on the right and "SMITH & WESSON" on the left, a smallish checked wood grip with the S&W logo inset into both sides, serial # on the butt is 540386 and on the inside of the frame when the cylinder is open is the letter "R" and the # 5752.I assume you have a swing out cylinder. I take your word the serial is on the butt, not the inside grip, there is no step in the backstrap and obvious defects other than the finish as described, and it is not Spanish. If its a 1903 Model S&W in .32 Long and a family heirloom, its priceless, preserve, protect and pass it on.Serial No. 159995, circa 1902-1909, .32 S&W, 2" round barrel. Approximately 80% blue remains the some areas starting to thin. Bore is very good with a light area of pitting visible, rifling remains strong. Mother of Pearl grips are very good,right side has a small surface crack visible.
