Line up the cam gear with the xrank pin pointing toward the top of the cylinder. Then pull rhe 14 mm bolt on the top of the stator housing. You should see a timing mark on the stator. If you dont turn the cam gear one more revolution. If you dont see the timing mark on either position.Next step, remove the drivers seat. Take a pair of bare metal handled pliers and jump across the solenoid that is just to the rear and below the drivers seat. Be careful, as it will start in any gear without pressing the brake pedal. 1 Answer. 2015 Polaris 900 won't start. Was starting with fast idle, rough running with backfires, now won't start at all. Was running perfect. Never gave any trouble. Almost like it gets stuck at a spot with too much compression. Keep turning the key and it will eventually fire right up. Ive put the machine in gear and pushed it but dont know if that actually did anything or coincidence that it started after. 2020 Sportsman 850. Remove one of the coils from the spark plug. Use an extra spark plug. A spark plug tester. Or even a screwdriver in the end of the coil. Ground it on a piece of metal on the engine. Finally, have someone crank the engine and watch for a spark.
